The Telecentre's activity and projects focus on:

• improving the access of the public in general, the local economic sectors and bodies to interesting and quality services through the application of new technologies;
  
  
• generating simultaneously new working opportunities in the new technologies sector through the recycling and qualification of young people and women in the region and supporting new business initiatives in this field.
  

The Telecentre is contributing with its expertise in the commercialization and management of teleworking strategies and of the provision of advanced new technology-based services, especially in the field of Web and Multimedia projects.

The resulting projects and activities are numerous. For instance, there are teleservices platforms and tools for the promotion of existing economic sectors in the region, such as rural tourism (www.pirineonavarro.org), local handicraft farm products (www.alimentosartesanos.com), forestry, metal-machine or services SMEs. They are usually co-financed by Community or regional programmes and belong to regional development strategies. Other activities have a commercial approach and are developed for public bodies, industrial or services businesses.

This activity is helping maintain jobs and promoting other small telework cores, such as the Atxatxuri Telecentre in Garralda, a small municipality in the Navarre Pyrenees, where many young people are actually working in a "distributed group work".

Besides, the BIAIZPE Telecentre elaborates, manages and participates in other projects aiming at job and business creation in the new technologies sector:

• ExperTIC (Interreg II C), whose purpose is to set up a European network of technological centres allowing to create in the near future mixed teleworking team works consisting of an assorted set of multidisciplinary experts, as well as to organize the joint training (both traditional and distance-based) and the setting up of collaboration and meeting points for small enterprises and entrepreneurs in the sector in rural areas.
  
• Network of New Technologies Info-points (LEADER II) - more specifically, eight- to be located in public libraries, which will be coordinated and supported by the BIAIZPE Telecentre.
  
• New Technologies Consultancy and Diagnosis Plan (ADAPT and LEADER II), aiming at the optimized use of new technologies for the improvement of business management for micro enterprises and rural businesses.
  

The BIAIZPE Telecentre imparts training in new technologies, both in its own facilities and in a mobile classroom, which travels around the Mountain of Navarre. It also provides support and technological-incubator services for business initiatives, and is committed to identifying business experiences and opportunities in the new technologies sector likely to be successfully introduced in the Mountain of Navarre.
