The project started up in November 2001 and is scheduled to finish in November 2003. It involves the development of:

• An on-line benchmarking tool allowing SMEs to become aware of their position in terms of competitiveness and innovation as far as national and European indicators are concerned.
  
  
• A self-learning multimedia kit providing SMEs with the methodology and the contents required to improve their innovation level.

This project shall be developed by a partnership consisting of nine European bodies, conducted and coordinated by INITIATIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (Eire). Within the partnership, ITURBROK (Spain) shall collaborate with Kingston University (United Kingdom), Northern Ireland Economic Research Centre (United Kingdom), EWEDO GGMBH (Germany), Associaçao Industrial Portuguesa (Industrial Association of Portugal / Chamber of Commerce of Lisbon - Portugal), The Circa Group (Eire), Laois County Enterprise Board (Eire) and Iniciativas Innovadoras (Innovative Initiatives - Spain).
