The purpose of the Ciberaula (i.e. “IT Classroom”) is to facilitate citizens’ access to information & communication technologies (ITCs) and digital culture, disseminating their advantages, services and opportunities.
To attain this purpose, four annual training programmes provide digital literacy and ICT training distributed into 80 courses, all of which amount to 1300 hours of training and 800 trainees. The programmes cover introductory courses, most widespread applications, as well as Internet courses, including the most common Internet-based services and contents.
The IT Classroom also provides public access services to IT equipments typical of telecentres – 11 PCs equipped with most common office automation applications as well as broadband Internet access. The facilities also include other equipments, such as scanners, laser printers and colour printers, didactic and reference materials.
The service welcomes an average of 8500 users per year, who may always rely on the support of the specialised staff in charge of the Ciberaula to solve doubts and to receive guidance on the use of the available equipments to meet their interests and needs.
